Introduction
Maliina Abelsen
Maliina is a former Program Manager at UNICEF, CCO/Commercial Director at Air Greenland with responsibility for sales, marketing, customer service and station staff. From 2013-2016 Maliina was the Director of the Arctic Winter Games 2016. She was a member of Inatsisartut in 2009-2013, and during this period she was Naalakkersuisoq for Finance and Naalakkersuisoq for Social Affairs.
She previously worked for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva and in Greenland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nuuk.
Over the years, she has built solid board experience, including from her time as Chairman of the Board of Royal Greenland A/S (2022 – 2025), and her current position as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Greenland and Vice Chair of the Bank’s business fund. She is a former Chair of Visit Greenland and former Vice Chair of Tele Greenland.
Maliina holds a Master’s in Sociology (cand.scient.soc) and a Master’s in Policy and Applied Social Science from Australia. She is an internationally certified coach, yoga and mindfulness instructor, project management professional, and the Czech Consul in Greenland.
Arnakkuluk Jo Kleist
Arnakkuluk has for the past five years, 2018-2023, been the Director of Greenland’s Culture House Katuaq, leading the organization through a challenging corona period. Prior to this, she was Communications Director at Tele-Post (now Tusass).
Between 2014 and 2016, she was Deputy Director for the Arctic Winter Games 2016, with special responsibility for communication, culture, and the volunteer program.
At the time, she came from a position as Head of the Communication and Culture Department in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq.
Arnakkuluk holds a Master’s degree in Communication & Cultural Encounters from Roskilde University. She has held various positions where her academic background has played a key role.
She was a member (2022 – 2025) and later chair (2024-2025) of the Greenlandic Arts Foundation (Eqqumiitsuliornermut Aningaasaateqarfik).
Community engagement has always meant a great deal to Arnakkuluk, leading to several positions including Board Member of Elite Sport Greenland and Meeqqat Inuunerissut/Better Childhood.
In 2025, Arnakkuluk helped launch and co-host the podcast “Rigsrådet.”
